Gidon Kremer, along with his chamber orchestra, the Kremerata Baltica, wanted to build a bridge between different art forms and musical worlds, supplementing Philip Glass’s violin concerto, The American Four Seasons, with distinct video installations for live concert tours and promotional releases. He assigned each of the four movements to a different multimedia artist, selecting the legendary avant-garde filmmaker Jonas Mekas specifically to visualize Movement IV. Most of the footage comes from Mekas's travels in Italy, also appearing in works such as The Song of Italy, The Song of Assisi, and the later compilation Travel Songs.

New Order: Movement showcases early live performances from 1980–1983, capturing the band’s transition after Joy Division. The release focuses on raw, formative concert footage from venues across Europe and North America, offering the most extensive visual record of New Order’s earliest era.

These segments reflect the director's time spent working on projects in Japan, Korea, and China during the respective seasons, grounding each location in its temporality. The original audio from the filming process accompanies these visuals, immersing viewers in the specific textures of each place. In the final act, Fall in Love, the clarity of both video and sound dissolves into a blur, reflecting the elusiveness and fragility of love and memory. The faint echoes of the director’s conversations with a former partner linger in this obscured space, hinting at intimacy while withholding its full shape, leaving the audience to contend with the ambiguity of what remains. Through Seasons, the director captures not just the transience of time and place but also the impermanence of human connections, inviting viewers to reflect on the movements that define their own lives.

A tale of love, life, death, and destiny that spans continents and time. The story follows a couple destined to fall in love but kept apart by the machinations of a vengeful soul, and a 100-year odyssey through previous lifetimes for them to finally come together. Motola will play Eiko, a young woman who escapes her family’s expectations of a traditional life in Japan but finds herself entangled in a romantic web in New York. Competing for Eiko’s affection is Yutaka, to be portrayed by Matsudo.
